Every year we celebrated Christmas at my grandparents house the weekend before Christmas. This is my grandmother’s Christmas punch recipe. Each family member would bring a home cooked dish to the holiday gathering.
My mom always made baked beans, holiday punch and a festive ice ring to go with it. (Just pour water into a Bundt pan, a few inches at a time along with layers of fruit.)

Ingredients needed
- Cranberry Juice – Sweet and tart cranberry juice is perfect and festive for the holidays.
- Pineapple Juice – Fresh pineapple juice add sweet, yet tart flavors to this punch recipe.
- Frozen Lemonade – Frozen lemonade adds such great flavor to this punch. Locate it easily in the freezer section near the frozen berries.
- Lemon-Lime Soda – Gives it a splash of citrus and fizzy. Use whatever brand you prefer, I used Sprite. You can also use Ginger ale for this Christmas punch recipe.

- Orange Slices – Fresh orange slices are a nice touch for a garnish. Also add them to your ice ring (directions below!)
How to make Christmas Punch
- Step 1: Squeeze the container of frozen lemonade into a large drink dispenser or punch bowl.
- Step 2: Add the cranberry juice cocktail and pineapple juice. Gently stir to combine. Add lemon-lime soda just prior to serving. Add plenty of ice or an ice ring.
- Step 3: Serve over ice and garnish with slices of oranges and fresh or frozen cranberries.
Want to prep this holiday punch ahead of time? Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a pouring pitcher (minus the lemon-lime soda) and refrigerate overnight. Add the soda just prior to serving so it stays fresh and has lots of fizz!
I love serving some fun drinks when I entertaining during the holidays. For hot drinks, I love making mulled apple cider. Which is just adding Aspen mulling spice to a gallon of apple cider, heating it up over low-medium heat. Then serving warm (keep it warm in a crockpot or stainless steel airpot.)
For cold drinks, I serve this Christmas punch and always get rave reviews! Christmas punch is refreshing and the perfect blend of tart and sweet. It also looks beautiful on your buffet table. Your punch will be ready to serve in a matter of minutes!
How to make an Ice Ring for Punch
- Step 1: Pour a little water into the bottom of a Bundt or fluted tube cake pan. Add slices of orange slices, lime slices, and cranberries. Freeze until set.
- Step 2: Working in layers, continue to add water a little at a time and layers of fruit until the pan is full. Place back in the freezer with each layer added.
- Step 3: Let the ice ring freeze for several hours or overnight to fully set.
- Step 4: Remove from the pan– Invert the pan and run hot water on the exterior of the pan to easily remove the ice ring. Set on a sheet pan and keep in the freezer until you are ready to use.
This Christmas punch is super easy to make and not too sweet. Be sure and serve over plenty of ice. To make holiday punch with sherbet, simply add a scoop of orange sherbet to each glass before you pour the holiday punch. How delicious does that sound?!

Recipe FAQs
Get some faux ice cubes and fill the bottom of your drink dispenser with them, just up to the nozzle. This will prevent any fruit pieces, etc. from clogging the nozzle and keep your drinks flowing nicely! Find them on Amazon.
Yes! Want to make this an adult beverage? Add ½-2/3 cup of rum or vodka to the recipe.

This recipe is delicious and very festive looking in beverage dispenser. I used the entire 46 ounce can of pineapple juice and 2L of 7up. Delicious!
Necee P says
I should have made a double batch. I’ve learned my lesson. Not a drop left in punch bowl.
Jessica Robinson says
Yes!!! So good to hear that. We always make a second batch and leave it outside on the porch if it’s cold outside. So happy to hear they loved it.
Jenna says
If I don’t add ice, do I need to dilute with water?
Jessica Robinson says
Jenna,
We love lots of ice, but you certainly do NOT need to dilute with water if you don’t use ice. You can certainly taste test, then decide if you need a little ice or water. Do this before adding the soda, so you don’t get rid of the fizz by stirring.

My daughter made this for her holiday house warming party and it is so good! I always think of it as a Christmas recipe but we will be having it at our Easter dinner since we can no longer find our usual frozen punch concentrate at our local stores.
The recipe is simple and the ingredients are easy to find. It has become one of our ‘family tecipes’!
Jessica Robinson says
Oh that is incredible to hear! My grandmother would be thrilled!
Vickie Kneisler says
This is great! Please email me the recipe.

I was also wondering about the 14ounce can of pineapple juice. If this makes a gallon it would have to be the 46 ounce can. Is this correct. Someone asked the question earlier and it was stated to follow the recipe card. But then that doesn’t equal one gallon. Can you help me please as I’m making this for 35 people at our family Christmas. Thank you in advance.
Jessica Robinson says
The ingredients are in the recipe card, which you can print. YES. as it states, 14-ounce can of pineapple juice. There’s NO typo. It’s our most popular recipe. We always make a double batch to serve more guests. And you can adjust the soda to your liking and add more if needed. Just remember to add it last, so you don’t lose the fizz.
Patti says
This looks awesome!! It says 14oz can of pineapple it looks like in the pic it’s a large can. Do you just 14oz or the whole can?
Jessica Robinson says
Follow the directions and ingredient list in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. We generally make a double batch.
Tanya says
So, you only use 14 ounces of pineapple juice??
Jessica Robinson says
The ingredients are in the recipe card, which you can print. YES. as it states, 14-ounce can of pineapple juice.
Linda says
Maybe this has been asked before but is your lemonade concentrate, a six ounce or twelve ounce can?
Jessica Robinson says
I can look. But in our grocery stores, there’s only ONE size of concentrate in the freezer section. The ones that are orange juice concentrate, lime, lemon, etc.
KARA says
how many gallons does this make? I am needing to make a large batch. Looks amazing!
Jessica Robinson says
I believe one recipe makes ONE gallon. You’ll likely want to double the recipe.
B says
Should we use cranberry juice or cranberry cocktail?
Jessica Robinson says
You can use whichever one you want or can find.
Tracy says
Want to add alcohol but what kind?
Jessica Robinson says
Either rum, spiced rum or a bottle of dry white wine.
Shelly says
how much alcohol to add to the punch for 20 people?
Jessica Robinson says
You can add 3/4 cup of brandy or even a 750 ML of dry white wine.
Kate Corsey says
How about vodka?
Jessica Robinson says
You can add that to make it an adult drink.
Annelie says
Thank you so much for this recipe. It is absolutely a keeper! I made it for a mess dinner for the local air cadets squadron, and it was a total hit!
I did add cranberry ginger ale to it, but other than that followed it completely, including fresh cranberries and slices of oranges.
Thank you!
Jessica Robinson says
Oh that’s awesome!!
I LOVE cranberry ginger ale (and during the holidays they sometimes sell a raspberry ginger ale that is AMAZING!!)
Sharon says
can orange juice be used as a substitute for the pineapple juice?
Jessica Robinson says
