Every year we celebrated Christmas at my grandparents house the weekend before Christmas. This is my grandmother’s Christmas punch recipe. Each family member would bring a home cooked dish to the holiday gathering.
My mom always made baked beans, holiday punch and a festive ice ring to go with it. (Just pour water into a Bundt pan, a few inches at a time along with layers of fruit.)

How to make Christmas Punch
- Step 1: Squeeze the container of frozen lemonade into a large drink dispenser or punch bowl.
- Step 2: Add the cranberry juice cocktail and pineapple juice. Gently stir to combine. Add lemon-lime soda just prior to serving. Add plenty of ice or an ice ring.
- Step 3: Serve over ice and garnish with slices of oranges and fresh or frozen cranberries.
Want to prep this holiday punch ahead of time? Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a pouring pitcher (minus the lemon-lime soda) and refrigerate overnight. Add the soda just prior to serving so it stays fresh and has lots of fizz!

I love serving some fun drinks when I entertaining during the holidays. For hot drinks, I love making mulled apple cider. Which is just adding Aspen mulling spice to a gallon of apple cider, heating it up over low-medium heat. Then serving warm (keep it warm in a crockpot or stainless steel airpot.)
For cold drinks, I serve this Christmas punch and always get rave reviews! Christmas punch is refreshing and the perfect blend of tart and sweet. It also looks beautiful on your buffet table. Your punch will be ready to serve in a matter of minutes!

How to make an Ice Ring for Punch
- Step 1: Pour a little water into the bottom of a Bundt or fluted tube cake pan. Add slices of orange slices, lime slices, and cranberries. Freeze until set.
- Step 2: Working in layers, continue to add water a little at a time and layers of fruit until the pan is full. Place back in the freezer with each layer added.
- Step 3: Let the ice ring freeze for several hours or overnight to fully set.
- Step 4: Remove from the pan– Invert the pan and run hot water on the exterior of the pan to easily remove the ice ring. Set on a sheet pan and keep in the freezer until you are ready to use.

This Christmas punch is super easy to make and not too sweet. Be sure and serve over plenty of ice. To make holiday punch with sherbet, simply add a scoop of orange sherbet to each glass before you pour the holiday punch. How delicious does that sound?!

Recipe FAQs
Get some faux ice cubes and fill the bottom of your drink dispenser with them, just up to the nozzle. This will prevent any fruit pieces, etc. from clogging the nozzle and keep your drinks flowing nicely! Find them on Amazon.
Yes! Want to make this an adult beverage? Add ½-2/3 cup of rum or vodka to the recipe.

Kathy Chilimidos-Packard says
This was actually very refreshing and even better the second day (today). I made the ice ring to go along with it, and it was really pretty. There wasn’t enough “fizz” just using sprite. Maybe ginger ale would be a better option. Definitely a keeper though.
Janet Jones says
Very pretty accompaniment to our Christmas Eve table. Perfect blend of flavors. Everyone loved it. Thank you!
Jessica Robinson says
Thrilled to hear everyone enjoyed it. Grandma would be honored!
Merry Christmas
Christina says
Is there a different alcohol like prosecco or champagne that could go with this?
Jessica Robinson says
Most of our readers make the punch non-alcoholic. But you can use whatever type of alcohol you’d like. White wine, champagne, prosecco, etc. would be great
Peggy says
It was a hit! Refreshing, not too sweet. Elementary aged granddaughter wrote a paragraph as a school assignment about it being her favorite part of the holiday brunch. C’mon, what better compliment or review could there be than that?
I served it from a large glass dispenser, floating lemon and orange slices. I set the dispenser on a tray and surrounded it with pine boughs, raw cranberries and twinkle lights.
Jessica Robinson says
Peggy,
Thank you so much!! I’m thrilled to hear everyone enjoyed it. Sounds so beautifully displayed!!!
Merry Christmas
Denise says
Your recipe serves 12 people. How many ounces per serving?
Thank you!!
Jessica Robinson says
One recipe makes about a gallon. We make at least two batches for about 20-25 people. Just add the Sprite or lemon-lime soda last minute, or it will lose fizz.
C. says
Used gingerale and it was a little tart but will try it with the lemon lime soda next time to sweeten it up a little
Ellen T says
It calls for 1 can lemon lime soda (or Ginger ale) = is that a 12 oz can?
Jessica Robinson says
You can use one can of lemon lime soda or Ginger ale. Or use several cans if you prefer. Add as much fizz as you’d like.
Tiki says
What if I substitute Sparkling Cider for the Ginger Ale? Will it miss something?
Jessica Robinson says
That’s a great substitute
Sherry says
14 oz pineapple juice is nowhere recipe card doesn’t clarify. Can anyone help?
I’d love to try this
Jessica Robinson says
Hey Sherry,
You can also email us with any questions, we’re always happy to help answer questions.
Just use the amount you’d like closest to 14-ounces. I think over the years they’ve changed product packaging and sizes -shrinkflation… and it’s likely a size no longer available.
Marsha says
I made it Christmas Eve and my family loved it 😁
Jessica Robinson says
My grandmother would be thrilled that you enjoyed it!
Di Dickinson says
Super delicious and beautifully displayed in punch serving container!!
Jessica Robinson says
So happy to hear that!
Kirstie says
Could I use frozen limeade instead of lemonade? Putting in a Walmart order and it’s only showing limeade in stock 🙁
Jessica Robinson says
Yes of course!! Limeade works just fine.
Diane says
Is the pineapple juice a 14 oz or should it read 64 oz?
Jessica Robinson says
Diane,
The recipe card is at the bottom of the post. That will give you the exact measurements and containers needed.
Joan says
I have had to use cranberry and pineapple for UTI’s Only one we can find less than a gallon is the small cans you buy in 6’s. Only frozen we can find is orange.
Jessica Robinson says
Sizes of containers for both cranberry juice and pineapple juice has changed over the years. Shrinkflation. You can use a measuring cup to measure amounts and use more or less of one or the other depending on your taste.
Necee says
Should have made a double batch. This punch went like hot cakes.
Jessica Robinson says
Thank you so kindly for letting me know! Thrilled to hear you all enjoyed it.
Kim says
This was a HUGE hit at our Christmas Party last year! Beautiful, festive and delicious! Will definitely make again!
Jessica Robinson says
So happy to hear they all enjoyed it!
Miriam says
I want to make this for a Christmas party, can I substitute the frozen lemonade for something else?
Jessica Robinson says
Frozen lemonade can easily be found in the frozen section with orange juice, frozen berries, etc. But you can also use a few scoops of powdered lemonade if needed. Just add a bunch of ice to dilute it, as desired
