This Holiday punch recipe is a must have for the holiday season! This is my go-to party punch recipe that still remains a family-favorite. We’ve been making this easy holiday punch for years!

Every year we celebrated Christmas at my grandparents house the weekend before Christmas. This is my grandmother’s Christmas punch recipe. Each family member would bring a home cooked dish to the holiday gathering.

My mom always made baked beans, holiday punch and a festive ice ring to go with it. (Just pour water into a Bundt pan, a few inches at a time along with layers of fruit.)

    • Cranberry Juice – Sweet and tart cranberry juice is perfect and festive for the holidays.
    • Pineapple Juice – Fresh pineapple juice add sweet, yet tart flavors to this punch recipe.
    • Frozen Lemonade – Frozen lemonade adds such great flavor to this punch. Locate it easily in the freezer section near the frozen berries.

    • Fresh Cranberries – Add fresh or frozen cranberries for a pop of color for a garnish.
    • Orange Slices – Fresh orange slices are a nice touch for a garnish. Also add them to your ice ring (directions below!)
    Ingredients for holiday punch.

    How to make Christmas Punch

    • Step 1: Squeeze the container of frozen lemonade into a large drink dispenser or punch bowl.
    • Step 2: Add the cranberry juice cocktail and pineapple juice. Gently stir to combine. Add lemon-lime soda just prior to serving. Add plenty of ice or an ice ring.
    • Step 3: Serve over ice and garnish with slices of oranges and fresh or frozen cranberries.

Want to prep this holiday punch ahead of time? Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a pouring pitcher (minus the lemon-lime soda) and refrigerate overnight. Add the soda just prior to serving so it stays fresh and has lots of fizz!

I love serving some fun drinks when I entertaining during the holidays. For hot drinks, I love making mulled apple cider. Which is just adding Aspen mulling spice to a gallon of apple cider, heating it up over low-medium heat. Then serving warm (keep it warm in a crockpot or stainless steel airpot.)

For cold drinks, I serve this Christmas punch and always get rave reviews! Christmas punch is refreshing and the perfect blend of tart and sweet. It also looks beautiful on your buffet table. Your punch will be ready to serve in a matter of minutes!

How to make an Ice Ring for Punch

    • Step 1: Pour a little water into the bottom of a Bundt or fluted tube cake pan. Add slices of orange slices, lime slices, and cranberries. Freeze until set.
    • Step 2: Working in layers, continue to add water a little at a time and layers of fruit until the pan is full. Place back in the freezer with each layer added.
    • Step 3: Let the ice ring freeze for several hours or overnight to fully set.
    • Step 4: Remove from the pan– Invert the pan and run hot water on the exterior of the pan to easily remove the ice ring. Set on a sheet pan and keep in the freezer until you are ready to use.
Two stemless glasses of holiday punch, cranberries and orange slices, ice cubes in glassses.

This Christmas punch is super easy to make and not too sweet. Be sure and serve over plenty of ice. To make holiday punch with sherbet, simply add a scoop of orange sherbet to each glass before you pour the holiday punch. How delicious does that sound?!

    Recipe FAQs

How do you keep the drink dispenser nozzle from getting clogged?

Get some faux ice cubes and fill the bottom of your drink dispenser with them, just up to the nozzle. This will prevent any fruit pieces, etc. from clogging the nozzle and keep your drinks flowing nicely! Find them on Amazon.

Can I add alcohol to holiday punch?

Yes! Want to make this an adult beverage? Add ½-2/3 cup of rum or vodka to the recipe.

We usually only use one can of sprite, but you are welcome to use a liter of soda if you prefer. It will just add more fizz.

You can use either a bottle (750 ml) dry white wine or 1 cup brandy or triple sec.

I would say Malibu rum (pineapple would be great too!) or we add a bottle of dry white wine. Some people prefer whiskey. It’s really all a personal preference.

I see it says this serves 12 people… but do you know how big of a container you used for it? I have a 2.3 gallon drink dispenser I want to use for a Christmas in July party! Just need to know if I should double or triple my recipe!

        Hello Krista,
I think to fill that container you’ll need to double the batch. One batch should roughly be 1-gallon pouring pitcher.

Yes it’s one can of Sprite. But you can add more cans or a full bottle if that’s what you prefer and you want more bubbly. My mom always liked cans of Sprite because they stay fresher, longer.

This looks tasty! Just for clarification, the photo shows a large can of pineapple juice (looks like 1.36 L, maybe?) but the recipe says a 14 oz. container. Should I use the entire 46 oz. can/container (which I think is 1qt. 14 fl. oz.) or should it be only 14 oz. of pineapple juice?

The directions/recipe is correct. It is a 14-ounce container of pineapple juice. However, if making a larger batch you would use more.

            Hello Alice,
Some grocery stores carry the 14-ounce can. But, you can always use a glass measuring cup to measure ounces (8-ounces in a cup) and you can certainly adjust the pineapple juice to your liking.

Calories are calculated by the recipe card. Sometimes they are not accurate. I’ll re-check it for you. But, everything in moderation. This punch recipe does make a lot- for at least 12 servings. If not more.
