Every year we celebrated Christmas at my grandparents house the weekend before Christmas. This is my grandmother’s Christmas punch recipe. Each family member would bring a home cooked dish to the holiday gathering.
My mom always made baked beans, holiday punch and a festive ice ring to go with it. (Just pour water into a Bundt pan, a few inches at a time along with layers of fruit.)

How to make Christmas Punch
- Step 1: Squeeze the container of frozen lemonade into a large drink dispenser or punch bowl.
- Step 2: Add the cranberry juice cocktail and pineapple juice. Gently stir to combine. Add lemon-lime soda just prior to serving. Add plenty of ice or an ice ring.
- Step 3: Serve over ice and garnish with slices of oranges and fresh or frozen cranberries.
Want to prep this holiday punch ahead of time? Simply mix all of the ingredients together in a pouring pitcher (minus the lemon-lime soda) and refrigerate overnight. Add the soda just prior to serving so it stays fresh and has lots of fizz!
I love serving some fun drinks when I entertaining during the holidays. For hot drinks, I love making mulled apple cider. Which is just adding Aspen mulling spice to a gallon of apple cider, heating it up over low-medium heat. Then serving warm (keep it warm in a crockpot or stainless steel airpot.)
For cold drinks, I serve this Christmas punch and always get rave reviews! Christmas punch is refreshing and the perfect blend of tart and sweet. It also looks beautiful on your buffet table. Your punch will be ready to serve in a matter of minutes!
How to make an Ice Ring for Punch
- Step 1: Pour a little water into the bottom of a Bundt or fluted tube cake pan. Add slices of orange slices, lime slices, and cranberries. Freeze until set.
- Step 2: Working in layers, continue to add water a little at a time and layers of fruit until the pan is full. Place back in the freezer with each layer added.
- Step 3: Let the ice ring freeze for several hours or overnight to fully set.
- Step 4: Remove from the pan– Invert the pan and run hot water on the exterior of the pan to easily remove the ice ring. Set on a sheet pan and keep in the freezer until you are ready to use.
This Christmas punch is super easy to make and not too sweet. Be sure and serve over plenty of ice. To make holiday punch with sherbet, simply add a scoop of orange sherbet to each glass before you pour the holiday punch. How delicious does that sound?!

Recipe FAQs
Get some faux ice cubes and fill the bottom of your drink dispenser with them, just up to the nozzle. This will prevent any fruit pieces, etc. from clogging the nozzle and keep your drinks flowing nicely! Find them on Amazon.
Yes! Want to make this an adult beverage? Add ½-2/3 cup of rum or vodka to the recipe.

What a great, festive, colorful way to spruce up any gathering. Looks amazingly delish!! I might just have to add a little Vitamin V to mine 😉 Or maybe two batches – one non-alcoholic for the kids and the drivers, and one with vodka for those of us who don’t have to drive!
Jessica Robinson says
Thanks so much Katy!!
Laura says
This punch looks delicious! I love the container as well!
Jessica Robinson says
Thanks so much Laura!
Kathy says
Made this to go with our Christmas meal and my company drank it all and loved it. Will definitely make it again.
Kelli says
This did NOT turn out Red as pictured. Had to add red food coloring.
Jessica Robinson says
Kelli,
I’m sorry to hear that your punch was not as red in color as you wanted. I do have two batches in this drink dispenser. I’m not sure if maybe you diluted the lemonade? I never add food coloring to anything. All images you see are the exact product/recipe. Let me know how I can help!
Jennifer says
I cannot find frozen lemonade concentrate. Could I use frozen orange juice concentrate in place of it?
Jessica Robinson says
Yes Jennifer!
You can certainly use frozen orange Juice or you can use a few scoops of powdered lemonade.
Jennifer says
Can you use concentrated orange juice? My store does not have lemonade concentrate.
Jennifer says
I have drink dispenser with a spout that holds 2 gallons of liquid. Do you know how much 1 batch makes? I know I have to add ice, trying to figure out if I should double it or 1.5x it.
Jessica Robinson says
Jennifer,
You’ll want to make 2 batches. That should leave you room for slices of fruit and some ice. Add the Sprite at the end. So it doesn’t go flat.
Jessica Gunter says
This looks great. How far in advance can I make it?
Jessica Robinson says
Jessica,
My grandmother used to make it the morning of our Christmas gathering and put into plastic pouring pitchers. She’d put it outside, because it was cold outside, to keep it chilled.
Just don’t add the Sprite until you are ready to serve. As it would likely go flat. (So maybe a few hours before. Or the night before- just wait to add the Sprite!)
Jessica Gunter says
Thanks so much!
Can’t wait to try it!
Donna says
This looks great for Christmas! Does one recipe fill up this spigot container you are showing?
Jessica Robinson says
Hi Donna!
I have 2 recipes of the punch in this glass drink dispenser.
Donna says
I had a feeling it was two. Thanks! I’m going to make this!
Jessica Robinson says
Hope you enjoy it Donna!! We always do!
AudieMay says
Punch sounds good. I just want to confirm – only ONE can of Sprite? Most punch recipes call for a 2 liter bottle of soda! Thanks for sharing.
Jessica Robinson says
Yes! Just 1 can of Sprite or lemon lime soda. You’re welcome to throw a second can in! But, my mom’s original recipe just called for one can. And we loved how it tasted.
Jeanette Martinez says
Great recipe! Served this at a holiday teacher luncheon and everyone loved it! It was beautiful as well with the orange & apple slices and cranberries.
Jessica Robinson says
Thanks so much Janette for taking the time to tell me!! I’m so happy everyone loved this punch! Apple slices sounds amazing in it too!
I. Aldape says
Will the ice water down the punch… have you ever made a second batch to make ice cubes out of so the punch does not dilute?
Jessica Robinson says
Irma,
It will NOT dilute the punch. Especially if you use a punch bowl and make an ice ring (in a Bundt pan). You’re not adding any water to the concentrated lemonade. So ice cubes work well with this recipe.
Crystal Valentine says
How much rum would you add?
Jessica Robinson says
Crystal,
I would start with maybe 3/4 cup to 1 cup of rum per batch. Adjust to taste.
Tammy says
Do you add water to the concentrated lemonade? Also what size can of lemonade?
Jessica Robinson says
Tammy,
No, do not add water to the concentrated lemonade. Frozen lemonade generally only comes in one size. In the freezer section with berries. 12 Fl ounces
Barbara says
