Ingredients

Brown Sugar Glazed Ham

  • 1 (9-11 pounds) bone-in spiral sliced ham (fully cooked ham)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1-2 (12-ounce) cans pineapple slices
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 can Sprite or lemon lime soda

Instructions

Brown Sugar Glazed Ham

  • Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F.
  • Unwrap the ham and place into a shallow baking pan or dish, flat side down.
  • Place pineapple slices in between the ham slices or simply lay them in the pan around the ham. Sprinkle with the ham with brown sugar and ground cloves. Pour the can of lemon lime soda around the ham.
  • Cover the entire pan with aluminum foil. Place the baking pan in the preheated oven. Bake for about 1 ½ hours.
  • Uncover the ham and baste (spoon the juices over the ham) every 15-20 minutes for approximately 1 hour. This will help the ham glaze caramelize.
  • Cook for approximately 15 minutes per pound until heated through. Do not overheat.
  • Use the caramelized juices from the pan to baste the ham once it's removed from the oven.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Should you need to, once the ham is done cooking, pour the juices into a medium saucepan. Whisk in the cornstarch and cook over medium to high heat. Whisk as the mixture cooks to thicken slightly. Remove from the heat and pour over the ham.
