Ingredients

  • 1 package St. Louis Style spare ribs
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • ¾ cup balsamic dressing

Instructions

  • Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. At one end of the ribs, slide a sharp knife under the membrane and over a bone. Grab the edge of the membrane with a dry paper towel and pull it off with your hands. The membrane may come off in one piece, or you may have to remove it in smaller pieces.
  • Line a half sheet pan with aluminum foil. Season the ribs with brown sugar, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add barbecue sauce and balsamic dressing to a glass measuring cup and stir. Set aside.
  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Cook the ribs for 1 ½ hours to 2 hours in the oven, until the ribs are tender. Finish them on the grill over low heat for about 30 minutes. Baste with barbecue sauce and balsamic dressing mixture and turn frequently as they cook on the grill.
  • Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy with grilled corn and other seasonal vegetables.
