Instructions

Green Bean Casserole

  • Cook fresh green beans in a large pot filled with several inches of water and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium high heat, with lid on the pot, until the green beans are partially cooked. About 5 minutes.
  • Add cream of mushroom soup, canned mushrooms (drained), and milk to a casserole dish. Stir this mixture with a spoon. Season with black pepper to taste.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Drain the green beans and add to the cream of mushroom and milk mixture. Stir with a large spoon to combine.
  • Stir in about ⅔ of the French's fried onions. Reserve the remaining fried onions for topping.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated 350 degree F for 45-50 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Uncover and top with remaining fried onions and cook for another 10 minutes.
